Overcoming Fears: Feeling Freedom From Within

Fear can often hold us back from living our fullest lives. It can paralyze us, keeping us from reaching our true potential and experiencing the richness of life.


As I prepare for my upcoming Aroma Freedom session on Thursday, November 7 at 8 PM NST, I have been reflecting on my own personal journey with fear and how I managed to break free from its grip.


In the past, my fears around social aspects significantly hindered my growth. I was terrified of public speaking, attending public events, and the constant fear of failure or something bad happening. These fears kept me from pursuing opportunities and connecting with others, leaving me feeling isolated and unfulfilled.


Confronting fears directly was key to my personal growth and empowerment. By stepping out of my comfort zone and facing fears head-on, I gradually desensitized myself to them. This challenging journey has led me to a sense of freedom and confidence, reshaping my perspective and allowing me to embrace life with courage and resilience.




Below are some instances of my fears that I started comprehending, acting upon, and overcoming.


  • Public Speaking: Initially, the thought of speaking in front of an audience made my heart race. I started small, speaking in front of a few friends, then gradually increasing the audience size. With each experience, my confidence grew, and the fear diminished. I now embrace speaking in social settings and feel calm and confident in doing so.


  • Public Events: Attending large gatherings was another source of anxiety for me. I started by attending smaller events and gradually worked my way to attending larger monthly events and volunteering on organizational boards. Over time, attending events became second nature and I even learnt that I love meeting and connecting with new people.


  • Fear of Failure: The fear of failing often kept me from trying new things. I learned to reframe my mindset, viewing failures as learning opportunities rather than setbacks. This shift in perspective allowed me to take risks and grow from my experiences.


  • Fear of Something Bad Happening:


    This fear often kept me on edge, and during 2020, it intensified. With so much uncertainty and the world facing countless unknowns, I connected with Dr. Perkus, the creator of Aroma Freedom Techniques. I found relief and comfort in Aroma Wisdom Sessions, which inspired me to start my own journey toward inner peace. By practicing Aroma Freedom daily, I learned to focus on the present moment, letting go of worries about the future. This shift allowed me to embrace the here and now, showing up for myself and those around me in a calm and supportive way


By continuously challenging myself and facing my fears, I have been able to break free from fears hold and live a more fulfilling life. I hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to confront their fears and embark on their own journey to freedom.


Tips for Confronting Your Fears:


Identify Your Fears: Take time to recognize and acknowledge what you are afraid of.


Challenge Negative Thoughts: Replace negative thoughts with positive affirmations.


Take Small Steps: Gradually expose yourself to your fears to build confidence.


Seek Support: Share your fears with a trusted friend or therapist for guidance.


Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge and celebrate each step you take towards overcoming your fears.
